Like many other great things, our story begins in the 80’s.

Mark & Cynthia Harp started a lawn maintenance business in April of 1989. By 1995, Mark had a couple crews and his work ethic and honesty had generated a nice size business. But it was time to do more.

In 1995, Mark received a postcard in the mail from a company called Aquascape Designs, inviting him and other landscapers to a seminar in SeaTac. There, Greg Wittstock, The Pond Guy, passionately spoke of the wonders of water gardening, and the 20 components and 20 steps to build an ecosystem pond.

Soon, Mark had his first ponds in the ground and quickly realized this was something he was passionate about, so he sold the landscape business and in 1999, pivoted to specializing in water features!
