Project Spotlight: Sandbox Studio Trout Pond
As Artist of the Year 2018, Dan was invited to participate in the Sandbox Studio in 2021. This was a weeklong project, built inside of the Aquascape warehouse in St. Charles, Illinois. Dan had a vision to create a Pacific Northwest Trout Stream as his Sandbox build, and brought this vision to life alongside Brian Helfrich, Chris Hanson, & Team Aquascape.
The end result was a stunning, inviting space that could easily be recreated in your own backyard. Borrowing elements from Mother Nature herself, we brought to life a naturalistic, meandering stream designed to mimic a river, created a log jam in a bend in the stream, a deep pond with strategic lighting, multiple waterfalls including a drippy moss water wall, and even a Hot Spring! The patios and walkways encourage exploration and invite the viewer to experience the water feature from multiple viewing areas.
